"Full Day Walking 50. With the hot Mediterranean sun beating down on our backs we descended the final 100 metres through the vineyards and entered the small resort of Banyuls-sur-Mer. Our son, Simon, who, most generously, flew out to meet us, took our photos in front of the GR10 board outside the town hall on the sea front and then came the long dreamt-of swim in the Med. After 2 months of constant climbing and descending, magnificent scenery and many new friendships we sensed real achievement... and immense satisfaction that we have been able to share our experience with others as well as benefitting Children's Hospice and Hospiscare. Many thanks to Colin, Yvonne, Peter and Josiane who all joined us for part of the walk and to our two sons and their families who have given us so much moral and practical support over the past 9 weeks. Thanks above all to all who have sponsored us. We have paid our own way throughout this venture so rest assured that every penny you have given us has gone directly to our charities and those people in need who have given us such a sense of purpose throughout our Pyrenees Trek."
