"Even walking in remote Pyrenean valleys the tragic news from London has reached us. Our hearts and thoughts go out to those who have suffered loss or injury as a result of these futile acts. We have also been struck by the spontaneous expressions of sympathy offered by French people we have met and would wish to record our thanks to them for the friendship and solidarity shown to the British people at this sad time." - 12th July
