Photos Week 7 - St Etienne de Tinée to Le Boréon

During the coming days a number of friends joined us for the final section - by the time we reached Le Boréon we were 10, though at this point Josiane had to leave the group. As we entered the Mercantour National Park the aridity of the landscape became more and more striking with eroded landscapes, small, sometimes deserted villages and glimpses of lammergeiers and griffon vultures. Despite the relative proximity of the Mediterranean these were isolated valleys and settlements. In St Dalmas de Valdeblore we chose to take the more remote and challenging GR52 route for our final days. On our final rest day at Le Boréon many of us did an extra climb ... and Terry's offer of marriage to Jenny was accepted!
