Here are our personal comments on places to stay. We cannot stress highly enough how good and, by British standards, excellent value we found food and accommodation. In refuges, though, you have to be prepared for tight dormitory accommodation, outside stand-up loos and, sometimes, cold showers only. We can only comment on where we stayed - in some places there are alternatives!! Look in the topoguides and Useful Links for further information. In July and August it's important to book early. In most cases we booked in advance ( where possible there are links to the relevant website )
