In Search of Everest ( click for details of slideshow presentation )

For our second visit to Nepal the lure of the Everest Region proved irresistible. After several days in Kathmandu we caught the bus to Jiri and followed the traditional route used by Hillary and many others, initially to Lukla and then up the Dudh Kosi valley to the gateway to the Everest area Namche Bazaar. There followed 11 days of some of the most magnificent trekking we have ever undertaken.

Follow the Trekking link for options on how to plan your trek, the Advice link for essential tips on trying to remain healthy, insured and safe, the Useful Links page for ways to prepare in advance and the Photos link for our journey as it progressed.
